Magazines for Kids by Kids - Day 2

Tuesday, 18th February 2014

Day 2 of our Magazines for Kids by Kids course, and artist Ania Bas continued to lead the team of editors in the production of their magazine.

The group began to bond through decision making and collaborative action. Teams were formed for specific tasks and the children worked together to inspire and advise each other.

Slowly ‘The Artist Times’ emerged!

Children developed their own content based on their interests.

They developed techniques for collage, screen printing and drawing.

But most importantly we learnt to cooperate and work as a team.

We made a mock up of how we wanted the magazine to be.

We are now waiting for it to be printed….how exciting!

Thank you Children’s Art School! Both my children, aged 7 and 9, had a wonderful time on your course. They came home thrilled with the work they had produced and enthused about the ideas they had formed. They are asking when they can go again – something that has not happened with a holiday club before. Art magic!
Many thanks,
Felicity
