Nestled in a tranquil garden setting, Hags Pottery was founded in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic by Annabel Johnson as a place for creativity, connection, and hands-on learning.
Originally part of Children’s Art School, the studio evolved into an independent space dedicated to pottery, offering a welcoming environment for both beginners and experienced potters. With a focus on traditional hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques, the studio was created to provide a much-needed creative outlet after a time of isolation. The peaceful surroundings and small class sizes ensure that each student receives personalised guidance, fostering both skill development and a sense of community.
Hags Pottery offers after-school pottery lessons for children, where young artists can explore clay through playful and engaging projects. During the week, adult classes cater to those looking to develop their skills, unwind after a busy day, or even create functional pieces for their homes. Whether shaping their first bowl or refining their technique, students of all ages find joy in the tactile and meditative process of working with clay.
The studio continues to grow, staying true to its roots in Children’s Art School by promoting creativity, learning, and the therapeutic benefits of pottery.
